GM and Chrysler Did Go Bankrupt – Mitt Was Right

Just something to think about . . . . . Lately Romney is often quoted as saying “Let Detroit go bankrupt”. It was the headline of an article he wrote in 2008. In the article he suggested that the automakers needed to go through managed bankruptcy (Chapter 11) where they could lessen their dept load and restructure into a leaner and better company . . . . . Enter our current administration and after 50 plus billion dollars, guess what?

On April 30, 2009 Chrysler filed for bankruptcy (Chapter 11) and on June 1, 2009 GM filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. You have to like the fact that Ford didn’t get any of the billions of dollars and has still managed to go from annual losses to profits.

I am trying to figure out why the next time it is brought up about him saying “Let Detroit go bankrupt” by this administration that he does not simply state the fact that what he suggested is exactly what happened and why they are still viable companies today

Retweet Gone Bad

Just something to think about . . . . . Why is it that most of the people involved in politics refuse to take responsibility for their own actions . . . . . In the case below it seems that Eva Longoaria, an Obama campaign co-chair, retweeted a tweet that called people stupid and Mitt Romney several things that were bad to say the least.  Then she tried to blame it on Twitter like there was a problem that cause it to happen. Then she tweeted an apology to the people that she had sent it too, but added these were “Obviously not my words or my personal view”. If the words were not her personal view then why did she retweet them in the first place? . . . . . Given her political leanings maybe she should have just blamed Bush and moved on.

One good point in all of this is that I can agree with Alan Colmes on his view. Life is good at times. LOL

Everybody Gets An “A”

Just something to think about . . . . . Looks like one states solution to our educational problems is to simply lower the standards so that students can meet them and the school system looks good. George Bush called this “ the soft bigotry of low expectations.”

“Florida’s plan to measure students by race riles education experts. A new policy by Florida educators to measure student goals in math and reading based on their race is an “ill-advised” lesson plan destined to . . . . .”

Proposed Tax to Stop Gun Violence – NOT

Just something to think about . . . . . Chicago – Cook County – The board president of Cook county Toni Preckwinkle has proposed that people purchasing ammunition in Cook county pay a tax of a nickle on every bullet purchased and $25 for each firearm. Supposedly, this is to help eliminate gang violence in Chicago and Cook county. So far this year they have had 406 homicides. Although the possibilty is probably slim to none of this actually being the case lets make a couple of assumptions. For the sake of this discussion lets assume that each person that committed one of these crimes or is going to commit this type of crime buys the gun and bullets legally. We will also assume that they will use 5 bullets in the commision of these crimes. This tax would cost them an additional $25.25. That being the case, I am pretty sure that this is not a real crime stopper!

This is so misdirected it is truly sad. Why not focus on the cause and people committing the violence. The only people that will suffer from this are the legal gun owners and at the end of the day it will do nothing to stop these senseless crimes that are being committed in Chicago. Amazing what people will come up with to keep from focusing on the real issues.

Shameful Example of a Debate!!

Just something to think about . . . . watched a bit of the VP debate and it is the worst “debate” I have ever seen. The moderator has no control over either themself or VP Biden. They both interrupt Congressman Ryan continuously and talk over Him. What should have been a debate with facts and figures looks more like a reality TV show.
